Compact Hardware for Focused Eight-Camera Projects
The Dahua DHI-NVR2108HS-8P-4KS3 combines eight IP camera channels, integrated PoE and local storage in a compact 260 × 232.5 × 47.6 mm enclosure. It is designed for surveillance systems in villas, retail premises and small offices where equipment space matters. All eight channels have corresponding PoE ports, allowing compatible cameras to receive power and transmit video through their Ethernet connections without a separate PoE switch.
Choose Where Intelligent Filtering Is Applied
The recorder provides four-channel SMD Plus, applying secondary filtering to distinguish human and motor-vehicle movement from activity caused by rain, leaves or changing light. For projects requiring analytics on more channels, compatible intelligent cameras can supply SMD or perimeter protection across the eight-channel system. This makes camera selection important when planning where advanced event detection will operate.
Resolution, Display and Storage Planning
- High-resolution access: Connects IP cameras up to 12 MP and outputs video through HDMI at up to 3840 × 2160.
- Conditional decoding: Handles up to six 1080p streams at 30 fps with recorder AI disabled, or four with AI enabled.
- Single-drive storage: One SATA interface supports one HDD up to 20 TB; recording duration depends on the configured bitrate, resolution and schedule.
- Audio support: One RCA input and one RCA output accommodate compatible external audio equipment.
