Does this security system require Wi-Fi?
No. The cameras connect directly to the included PoE NVR using Ethernet cables, so the system records normally without Wi-Fi.Internet is only required if you want to access live view, playback or receive alerts remotely through the Hik-Connect app.
Does the system record without internet?
Yes.All recordings are stored locally on the NVR. Even if your internet connection is unavailable, the cameras continue recording 24/7. Internet is only needed for remote access outside your local network.
Can I use my own hard drive?
Yes. This system is shipped without a hard drive, allowing you to choose the storage capacity that best fits your recording needs.We recommend using a surveillance-rated hard drive such as WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk for better reliability in continuous recording environments.
Does this system support ONVIF?
Yes.The included NVR supports the ONVIF standard, making it compatible with many third-party IP cameras and network devices.For the best AI detection and smart event features, we recommend using the included Hikvision cameras.
What can AcuSense detect?
AcuSense uses deep-learning technology to distinguish people and vehicles from common environmental movement such as rain, leaves and animals.
This greatly reduces false alarms and makes event searches much faster.
Is this system suitable for outdoor use?
The cameras feature an IP67 weatherproof rating and an IK10 vandal-resistant housing, making them suitable for year-round outdoor installation in rain, dust, heat and cold.
Is a subscription required?
No.The system records directly to the local NVR and does not require a monthly cloud subscription for standard recording and playback.
