Centralized PoE Recording for 16-Camera Projects
The Dahua DHI-NVR2216-16P-I2 is a 16-channel WizSense network video recorder for retail sites, offices, warehouses and multi-zone properties. Its 16 integrated PoE ports allow every camera channel to connect directly to the recorder for power and network transmission. The ports share a 130 W power budget, helping installers centralize camera connections without adding a separate PoE switch.
Targeted WizSense Analytics and Video Search
Recorder-side AI provides one channel of face detection and recognition, one channel of perimeter protection and four channels of SMD Plus. Up to 10 face databases can store a combined 5,000 images for comparison with captured faces. AI Search also uses target metadata or uploaded face images to help operators locate relevant appearances within recorded video.
Compatible intelligent cameras can extend selected analytics beyond the NVR's internal processing resources. The datasheet lists camera-side face detection and recognition on five channels, perimeter protection on four channels and SMD Plus on six channels. These functions depend on compatible cameras performing the analysis.
Storage, Display and System Integration
- Dual-drive support: Two SATA ports provide additional storage flexibility for continuous or event-based recording.
- High-resolution access: Supports IP cameras up to 12 MP and simultaneous HDMI and VGA output, with HDMI resolution up to 4K.
- Adaptive decoding: Handles up to six 1080p streams at 30 fps with NVR AI disabled, or four streams with AI enabled.
- External integration: Four alarm inputs, two alarm outputs, RCA audio input and output, and an RS-232 port support connected security equipment.
