The Dahua DHI-NVR2216-16P-4KS3 is a 16-channel network video recorder for villas, shops and small to medium-sized surveillance projects that need straightforward camera deployment. Its 16 integrated IEEE 802.3af/at PoE ports let every supported channel connect directly to the recorder for both data and power. The shared 130 W PoE budget should be matched against the combined requirements of the selected cameras.
More Storage Capacity for Multi-Camera Recording
Two SATA bays support HDDs up to 20 TB each, providing as much as 40 TB of raw internal capacity before formatting and system overhead. This dual-drive design gives installers more flexibility when planning retention for a 16-camera system. Smart H.265+, H.265, Smart H.264+, H.264 and MJPEG decoding formats are supported, while actual recording duration depends on camera resolution, bitrate, frame rate and recording schedule.
Selectable AI Processing and 4K Local Monitoring
The recorder provides four-channel SMD Plus to distinguish human and motor-vehicle motion from non-target activity such as rain, moving leaves and lighting changes. Compatible AI cameras can supply perimeter protection and SMD across all channels, allowing analytics to be assigned according to the camera configuration. The NVR also supports IP cameras up to 12 MP and HDMI output up to 3840 × 2160 for detailed local viewing.
