Does updating your Hitosino NVR firmware sound intimidating? You’re not alone—many users worry it’s too complicated or fear damaging their device.

Here’s the good news: it’s actually a simple process when you follow clear instructions. This beginner-friendly guide walks you through every step safely and confidently—no guesswork required. Let’s take the mystery out of firmware updates and get your system running smoother and more securely.

Important: Check Before You Update

Using the wrong firmware can permanently damage your device. Please verify these three points carefully.

1. Confirm Model & Hardware Version: The firmware must exactly match your model and hardware version (for example, pay attention to details like “HS-N616-Q2/16P”).

2. Compare Version Numbers: Make sure the firmware you’re about to install is newer than your current one.

3. Ask for Help if Unsure: Not sure about compatibility? Don’t risk it—contact our support team at support@hitosino.com. We’ll confirm the correct file for you for free.

Step 1: Download the Correct Firmware

First, you need to get the right file from the official source.

1. To download latest NVR firmware, please email support@hitosino.com  to request technical assistance and apply for the newest firmware version for your NVR.

Note:

Hitosino eventually stops releasing firmware updates for older NVR models. If you cannot find a firmware file for your exact model on the official website, it likely means your device has reached the end of its support life.
