High-Accuracy Foot Traffic & People Counting Analytics

The Hikvision 2 MP People Counting Network Camera is a specialized deep-learning camera engineered for retail stores, shopping malls, supermarkets, museums, and commercial facilities requiring precise customer traffic insights. Powered by an onboard deep-learning algorithm, it tracks and counts entering and exiting individuals separately. Configurable height-filtering thresholds ensure children, carts, or non-human objects are accurately filtered out, delivering reliable conversion and traffic flow data.

Comprehensive Reporting and Fail-Safe Data Storage

Designed for standalone or multi-site retail management, the camera offers versatile reporting methods to streamline customer analytics:

  • Flexible Data Uploads: Supports real-time data streaming to surveillance management platforms as well as scheduled cyclic uploads.
  • Automated Email Reports: Automatically generates and dispatches daily, weekly, monthly, or annual traffic summary reports directly to management emails.

How does the camera differentiate between people entering and exiting?

The camera uses deep-learning video analytics to track movement trajectories across a user-defined virtual counting line. It tallies inbound and outbound pedestrian traffic as separate metrics in real time, preventing double counting and accurately reflecting net foot traffic.
Can the camera exclude children, shopping carts, or non-human objects from counts?

Yes. The system includes target filtering based on customizable height thresholds. Operators can set a minimum height boundary so that strollers, shopping carts, and children below a specific height are excluded from statistical foot traffic counts.
What happens to counting statistics if the local network connection drops?

The camera contains 300 MB of onboard eMMC memory dedicated exclusively to storing foot traffic data. If network connectivity to the NVR or management server is interrupted, counting continues uninterrupted and cached statistics upload automatically once the connection is restored.
How are traffic reports delivered to store managers?

In addition to live viewing via iVMS-4200 or Hik-Connect client software, the camera can be configured to automatically compile and send formatted daily, weekly, monthly, or annual counting reports directly to designated email addresses.
